Website is consistently broken and customer service is absolutely horrible! In the two years I have been forced by my insurance company to deal with them I have never once spent less than an hour on the phone straitening out problems.

Horrible Offshore Call Center

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I generally get my meds on time, but if you have a problem, expect it to snowball into multiple problems and multiple wrong orders. And when you order medication every month, this ends up happening at least every few months. Every time you order, you have to call the call center, as website orders are always incorrect. The people who take the calls barely speak English. it's incredibly frustrating. Considering the outrageous prices charged for the types of meds ordered through the specialty pharmacies, I think they should be able to afford an American call center.

Avoid this business

This company is the absolute worst at every part of their services. Trying to call in takes so long and you still need to provide answers to “security questions” or verify with a customer rep even after doing the exact same thing with the automated system. The reps won’t enter notes so calls that were made basically never happened. Their supervisors legitimately don’t help so that’s an extra expense for no good reason. It takes at least five calls to get one thing done. Even then, medicines have not arrived on time so often that I still have to use a different pharmacy and pay more. This company should be burned to the ground and be sent to *** where is belongs.

Nightmare and life threatening

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Ok, like so many others that have to use this pharmacy. I have serious life threatening illnesses.

Because of a contract through our HR dept and UMR I have no option but Briova. I could write several pages but will stick to a few key facts. I have autoimmune hepatitis, rheumatoid arthritis , heart disease. I am being treated by the liver transplant center.

As they say I do not need one yet! Key word YET! Rheumatoid Arthritis is a disease that without meds will progress. It took 2 years of pain and testing for doctors to figure out what was wrong.

Finally after 2 years on prednisone, I was prescribed Embrel which I could only get thru Briova. The nightmare and pain I went through to just get my 1st dosage was many, many calls before someone got it right. I would say about a month or more. In which I had to stay on high dose prednisone for inflammation and pain.

We won't mention progression. To call in a refill is a nightmare as well. Been told need new prescription from doctor. (didn't need, just delayed refill till I could get it straightened out) Been told copay card was no longer good.

(again progression of disease while I wait to straighten it out) Copay card was in fact still good. When flooding was in eastern nc. They told me they weren't delivering to NC. I live near the mountains.

Flooding was 4hrs away from me! I had to call back later to see if they could deliver! Again off meds! Not sure who makes the decision I have to see my dr every 3mos to get refills or I don't get them.

My drs practice was so busy, when I was 10mins late and called to tell them, they couldn't see me and couldn't reschedule for a couple months later. I went out of remission while I waited for this to be straightened out and that was when I was told my copay card had expired. NOT! It took me 4 weeks to get back on.

I had since been prescribed Praluent which I had to also get from Briova. To save me nightmare calls for refills, I asked if they could get them refillable at same time, but I stressed if it was a problem I needed the RA med be sent as I was just going into remission and did not want to backslide. The guy assured me this would not happen. Sooo instead of just shipping the RA med, they decided to wait until the Praluent could be refilled.

When I stressed I was just going into remission and did not want to backslide. Instead they called me days later to tell me that and then could not ship for another few days because of the time I called them back. I have to stay steady on meds or I am going to need a transplant! UMR insurance, our HR dept and Briova are making decisions on my life.

I have told my husband if I do in fact die to sue. This is a joke. I had to get approval from UMR to be able to take medicine as prescribed by my doctors. I cannot take ibuprofen or any kind of nsaids as it puts my liver into overdrive.

Instead I was prescribed low dose tramadol for pain and inflammation. Instead when I would regress because of Briova. In order to keep working and sleep through the pain I had no option but to take nsaids. My hepatologist called to ask what new meds I may be taking and I said nsaids.

Of course they questioned it. I said I had no option as my insurance was telling me that I couldn't take what they had prescribed that would be safer for my liver. So for a pharmacy that specializes for people with serious illnesses, they are playing with lives. I have cried trying to get refills due to pain and inflammation.

I also told them, I had been told to apply for disability. I have two college kids and work for myself. I cannot afford to be on disability. Yet everytime, I wait on this pharmacy to get things right, I regress and progress to the point I may have no option but to seek disability sooner.

I won't even bother with the praluent nightmare. But will say this, I have familial chloresterol problems which has caused plaque in my arteries. I had my first heart attack at 48. This med is a miracle.

I was without any type of meds for my chloresterol issue as the ones on the market hurt my liver and may be why it had progressed to crossbridging fibrosis. So the delay in getting it and getting started with Briova was another day for plaque to build up. I have had 3 stints put in and have smaller vessels clogged. Not only that one shot is every week, one is every two weeks.

Very easy to get confused especially when you are getting delays in delivery. I go on vacation and don't know when to call for refills as they deliver only and I can't pick up, so I have to delay refills for that as well. I have been told to sign up for refills online.

I am tried, but can't even get sign up to load. I am also fearful if they will even get it, as they mess up so terribly when I am speaking to a live person.

The only way I got help was by contacting the drug company that makes my prescription. Since they are in the business of making money it is in their best interest to resolve the issues with Briova.

Guest

I agree, don't use this pharmacy.

Guest

Going through the worst nightmare myself now. Briova SUCKS so bad.

Calls after calls with no resolution in sight. The WORST customer service ever.

Guest

yes, it is a very bad pharmacy, I am out of medication for a couple of days because they are not able to deliver my medicines. Calling them take hours waiting and after a couple of hours phone calls are disconnected. Do not know why companies work with this very bad pharmacy.

Dangerous to patients

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am a transplant patient whose only option in getting my transplant medications is through BriovaRx and their affiliate OptumRx. My company has been using UHC since January of 2016 and Briova is their specialty pharmacy. Literally since day one when I returned to work from transplant, I have been having issues with this company. The very first issue was that they didn't even want to fill the medications my transplant doctor prescribed. I had to get an override from UHC for them to even start filling. Over the past 4 years, BriovaRx has been consistently inconsistent. It seems every month there is an issue when trying to to fill prescriptions with them. I've had to miss work, and even consider taking expired medication because they fail to deliver medications in a timely manner. Last month I didn't received my order on time because the person who I placed the order with the previous week, didn't actually submit my order for whatever reason. My most recent issue was just yesterday when an order I placed last week didn't show up. My call with them involved the customer service rep claiming my doctors cancelled this prescription for me (lie), and that there was no record of my order the previous week (another lie). Only after screaming at her did she miraculously find my order, but had no explanation on why it wasn't delivered. Only thing she could tell me was they could get it to me in 2 days. I told her this was not acceptable and I expected it to be delivered today and I would be out of medication after the next morning's dose. Long story short, I got my transplant hospital involved and they were able to get a local specialty pharmacy to rush medication to me. Briova is dangerous to patients because many of them depend on these medications in keeping them alive alive. Briova is incompetent and negligent in fulfilling their duty to make sure patients get their medications in a timely manner. Like transplant patients, many people don't have the luxury of missing doses. Its as simple as you take the medicine daily or you die. Unfortunately Briova doesn't seem to understand or care about that.

Stay away from this abomination for company.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

These people lied to me and said that my insurance will cover 80 percent and I would be responsible for 20 percent so I paid the 20 percent and accepted their services. About a month or two later I received a bill for $1600.00 and I called them, and they told me that wasn't right and for me not to worry about it but their main office called and threatened me with my credit.

The woman that told me that my insurance covered me lied to me and said that she checked with my insurance, and she said I was covered but come to find out I wasn't covered. I found all this out through my insurance. These people are real low life's. Now my credit will go to *** because I do not have the money they are demanding from me.

People, stay away from these people. Jacksonville Florida is the branch that did this to me. People, if you are forced to deal with these cons don't believe a word they say.

Before signing any paper work take it home with ya and contact your insurance company and get with them on what they cover. One more thing this company forged my name on several documents.

Company should be restructured from top to bottom!

Updated by user Nov 27, 2019

Sorry about the errors in this review. I typed it using a “Smart phone” that I’m sure you’ve experienced it autocorrecting and changing the things you’ve typed.

I’m not going to comb through it to correct it word for word because you should be able to get what I was saying. Thanks!

My husband had no choice but to utilize this *** company because his job had a contract with them for certain prescription drug distribution. My husband is battling cancer and NEEDS his chemotherapy drugs. However there’s an issue every month with this company which delays his medication through no fault of his. He calls in to refill his prescription a week in advanced like they told us in the beginning. Every month it’s been delayed 1-3 days up until September. In October 2019, we were going on vacation so he called them before we later to inform them that he wouldn’t be in town and to obtain his prescription before we left. They gave him the run around saying that the his doctor hadn’t approved his prescription. After speaking with the doctor, he assured us that he doesn’t have to authorize it monthly because it’s already approved by him. He also informed us that ALL of his patients that uses Briova have issues getting their medications. He’s very angry and we are too! My husband’s condition is getting worst because it’s been over 6 weeks and Briova still hasn’t sent his chemotherapy drugs. Yes today is Thanksgiving yet there’s nothing happy about the day. My husband is dying and we’re biting a family friend and teacher to my son on this Saturday. She passed away from cancer so the mood in our home is quite gloomy right now. Sorry but as for Briova the latest excuses is that they didn’t have our current address and that’s why it was delayed. Even though we haven’t moved and they have sent the medicine to the same address for 9 months straight. The next excuse was that we’re currently transitioning to a new distributor and it’s on back order. Then it was well your copay is changing so we won’t send it out until you pay it. When asked how much the copay is so that we can pay it, we were told that we don’t know what your new copay is? How is this okay? He is literally dying! God forbids he dies waiting for his LIFE SAVING MEDICATION. How am I supposed to explain that to our 4 children? Yes, daddy was getting better until a contract with a poor drug company caused his medicine to be delayed for months and his cancer got totally out of control and he’s no longer here. I’m terrified for my husband right now.

I hate that they took my current location and used it for the local BriovaRx. I AM NOT referring to the Briova in Columbus, MS!

The prescription is sent to our address in MI. It doesn’t come from the same Briova Pharmacy each month being that MI doesn’t have any Briova locations.

Briova should be avoided

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The customer service is awful and the management bullied me and called me a liar when I told them my meds never came. They are worth $10,000 and should be insured. They said I have to insure them. I was told by another staff member at Briova that this was not true and they turned her in.

I work in the admin department of a VERY LARGE Neurology office. I have unfortunately had to deal with this company for my patients who have Oxford and some UHC as a primary insurance. Briova is the lowest bidder, so it is a sad necessity. My job is to acquire and authorize medication to our office for our patients (I have to be vague). I have learned quite a few things dealing with this company over the last 3 years. In a nutshell... the Malaysian and Philippine call center is absolutely horrible and incredibly incompetent. Between a horribly dense accent (i do not mean to sound mean, but it is what it is) and an overall level of incompetence, they consistently suck. Aside from an average hold time of 45 minutes before dealing with these people, you hear themselves struggling to read their scripts as to what to say next. God help you if you have a name that is phonetically difficult to say out loud to someone who does not speak English well to begin with. I sadly end up requesting (which I suggest you all say as well) the "on shore" call center as soon as you connect. It is an additional wait but you at least have someone competent and able to help you correctly and efficiently. The problem, is that it is an even LONGER and additional wait to speak to them, because they are swamped. Outsourcing is sadly cheaper. Once you put all that aside there is a underlying issue. The call centers are the ones doing the processing of the MBI's and PA's. The on shore, call center workers have told me multiple times how I have done everything correctly and the problem is on them (meaning the off shore idiots) when processing work. There is a lot wrong here that I am not going to get into, along with an ARSENAL of horrible interactions I have had with them can be summed up in simple terms.... Briova Rx is just sad.

NEVER USE THEM

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Every month we call about a week ahead to order our medication and it always gets delayed. They give us a date the medication will come and then on that day we don't get it. When we call we always get an excuse! This time the excuse was that the shipping facility they picked did not have the mediation in stock. When we asked them to ship it the next day they couldn't because it is a Friday and the earliest shipment won't come until Tuesday. We are out of medication for Hepatitis B and with this disease you need to be compliant with taking this daily. We are sick of this company and their terrible service. We are thinking of taking legal action because this is not our fault people can't do their jobs. I work in a pharmacy myself and this is just crazy how they are treating their patients. This is not just a blood pressure medication that won't kill you to skip a day but these specialty medications are very important to not miss doses!

DO NOT TRUST THIS PHARMACY TO GET YOUR MEDICATIONS DELIVERED ON TIME! My son who is battling a childhood cancer needs a medication that protects his bladder during chemo. He has to take it 4hrs after treatment and again 8 hrs after. The 1st order that was placed was sent to a totally different city. I had to drive to the FedEx facility where it was sitting to pick it up. His Dr. Called in the script before the Thanksgiving holiday so he would have it for the following week. It never came. His nurse spoke directly to Briova from my phone and I was standing right next to her. She told them it was needed the next day. I called this morning to get the tracking # and was told there was not an order placed!!! I cant believe the total incompetence of this place!!! If you have another option to use other than this pharmacy I would suggest you use it even if it might cost a little more. The stress this pharmacy has caused us during this difficult time is totally uneccesary they never offered the slightest of apologies or any concern or compassion. My CHILD has Cancer for crying out loud!!!
